Fortnite players have been excited about the arrival of Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street. As soon as the skin appeared in the Item Shop, videos started spreading across YouTube and social media claiming there was a secret trick to unlock the bundle for free.
One of the most popular videos suggests that players can reduce the price of the Freddy Krueger bundle to 0 V-Bucks by performing a series of menu actions inside Fortnite. But does this method actually work?
Here's what players should know.
The Viral Freddy Krueger "Free Bundle" Trick
The video claims that Fortnite players can unlock the Freddy Krueger bundle without spending V-Bucks by following several unusual steps.
According to the creator, players must:
- Change their matchmaking region to a server with very high ping.
- Equip a specific banner in their locker.
- Open the Battle Pass and click through different rewards.
- Visit the Item Shop and interact with gift options on low-cost items.
- Open every V-Bucks purchase option and quickly back out without buying anything.
- Enter a special code called GOTAGOFAST through an alleged chat or admin panel.
- Switch their server region back to normal and wait several minutes.
The video then shows the Freddy Krueger bundle appearing with a price of 0 V-Bucks.
Does the Freddy Krueger Glitch Actually Work?
There is currently no evidence that this method works in Fortnite.
Epic Games does not provide any feature that allows players to obtain Item Shop cosmetics through secret menu combinations or hidden codes. The company also does not offer an admin panel where regular players can enter special commands to unlock paid content.
Many videos like this are created for entertainment, views, or curiosity. They often use edited footage, visual tricks, or incomplete recordings to make it appear that a cosmetic item has become free.
If a method sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Can You Get the Freddy Krueger Skin for Free?
At the time of writing, the legitimate way to obtain Freddy Krueger is through Fortnite's Item Shop whenever the bundle is available.
Players can purchase:
- The Freddy Krueger Outfit
- Matching cosmetics included in the bundle
- Individual items sold separately (when available)
Prices may change whenever Epic Games updates the shop, but there is no official free unlock method for the skin.
Beware of Fake Fortnite Glitches
Whenever a major crossover arrives in Fortnite, videos claiming "free skins" quickly appear online.
Some common warning signs include:
- Secret codes that nobody can verify
- Complicated menu sequences
- Requests to switch servers repeatedly
- Claims that an item will become free after waiting a few minutes
- Instructions involving hidden developer menus
Epic Games regularly patches exploits and has strict rules regarding unauthorized methods. Players should avoid downloading third-party software or sharing account information in an attempt to obtain cosmetics.
Will Epic Games Ever Give Away the Skin?
Epic occasionally offers free cosmetics through special events, challenges, promotional partnerships, and limited-time rewards. However, there has been no announcement regarding a free Freddy Krueger giveaway.
If Epic decides to offer the skin through an event in the future, the information will be shared through official Fortnite channels.
The viral Freddy Krueger "0 V-Bucks" trick has gained attention online, but there is no confirmed proof that it actually unlocks the bundle for free. The method relies on a long list of unusual steps and a supposed secret code that cannot be verified.
For now, the safest and most reliable way to get the Freddy Krueger skin in Fortnite is to purchase it from the Item Shop when it is available. Players should be cautious of videos promising free cosmetics and always rely on official Fortnite announcements for accurate information.
